Palisades Virtuosi is thrilled to bring its concert series to HACPAC!
Palisades Virtuosi celebrates New Jersey as they continue their 16th season of concerts in Bergen County! PV was founded in 2002 by three friends who just loved to make music together. They soon found that existing repertoire for flute, clarinet and piano was very limited and so began commissioning new works written specifically for their instrumental configuration. PV’s portfolio now boasts over eighty new pieces, acquired either directly through PV’s “Mission to Commission”®, or by a work being gifted to PV by several and various composers. Today’s tribute to our great state will feature music that is either written by an NJ composer, or about some aspect of NJ, and will include three new works! Our featured commissioned work will be by Bergen County resident, Jeffrey Kaufman based on the poem “Paterson” by Rutherford native William Carlos Williams. In a rare diversion, this work will include narration performed by world-renowned opera singer Frank Basile, who will also sing two songs by PV pianist/composer Ron Levy. Other works will include “Anatolian Dance” by local Hackensack composer, Godfrey Schroth, performed in his memory; “Rhapsody” by Teaneck composer, Patrick D. Finley and “George Washington Slept Here!” by John Lampkin. There will be a PreConcert talk with the artists and composers at 2:15, the concert will begin at 3:00. A reception will follow the performance. You may visit their website for more information about their programs: http://www.palisadesvirtuosi.org.
