Atlantic Street Park

Welcome to Atlantic Street Park, a small oasis nestled in the heart of downtown. Unlike Joni Mitchell’s famous song, “Big Yellow Taxi,” which laments the loss of paradise by “putting up a parking lot,” Mayor John Labrosse describes our park as a fusion of both nature and urban convenience. In his words, “They paved a parking lot and put up paradise.”

At Atlantic Street Park, you’ll discover a vibrant and inviting space that serves as the cornerstone of our HACPAC complex. With its outdoor stage, lush grass, shade trees, and ample seating, the park provides a perfect setting for the HACPAC to showcase activities and entertainment in the open air.

Throughout the warm weather months, our park comes alive with a variety of events, including Shakespeare in the Park, Movies under the Stars, Sunset Yoga, mesmerizing concerts, captivating recitals, and delightful lunchtime gatherings.

The creation of this park is a testament to our city’s commitment to revitalizing the downtown area into a pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use hub. Completed in the summer of 2015, Atlantic Street Park stands as one of the foremost achievements of our rehabilitation plan.

The park’s impact extends beyond the HACPAC; it also complements the adjacent new development of 222 residential units at 94 State Street. This residential project represents a significant milestone, being the first of its kind in the downtown area in over 30 years. With its proximity to the park, residents can enjoy a vibrant community space right on their doorstep.

We invite you to experience the beauty and vitality of Atlantic Street Park. It’s a flourishing paradise amidst the hustle and bustle of city life, a testament to our commitment to cultural enrichment, outdoor recreation, and the overall well-being of our community.
